New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art’s next exhibition: “Punk: Chaos to Couture” for Spring.

The exhibition opening will be on May 6, 2013 (open to the public on May 9), with a list of co-chairs seemingly perfect for the direction the exhibit is taking, including: Rooney Mara, Anna Wintour, Givenchy’s creative director Riccardo Tisci, and Moda Operandi’s Lauren Santo Domingo.
There will be six themed galleries: “Rebel Heroes,” “The Couturiers Situationists,” “Pavilions of Anarchy and Elegance,” “Punk Couture”, “DIY Style”, and “La Mode Destroy.”
In my opinion, this exhibition will be extremely interesting because mixing “punk” and “couture” seems so outlandish and dangerous to normal people, but the list of designers who will be contributing to the themed exhibits will make anyone who was already intrigued even more intrigued. I think this is a fashion forward step up from Ke$ha’s famous “garbage bag chic.” Personally, I can not wait to see how designers like Chanel and Alexander McQueen take on the exhibit “DIY Style.”
